She's really quite good in All The Real Girls, but I'm not sure how I feel about the movie. It's best part is the turn, and she makes the turn, but the movie has a tendency to just meander. The ending is also just.. why? It borders on one of my pet peeves, needlessly stupid characters, but it doesn't go too far. Though the big poignant quote of hte movie made me lol, as it is just a stupid line said with a stupid face by a stupid guy. Of course, Zooey plays a stupid girl, in the very "girls are stupid" sort of way. Her best scene is when she tells her story about the scar on her belly. It's just that the movie is really iffy.
To surmise: Random beautiful shots of rural life, relationship talk and yokel dialog, relationship stuff, relationship stuff, SUDDEN cut to some unimportant character with a quote like "you know chickens... they eat the seeds"
And you're like.. fuck you movie.
And Bridge to Tarabithia is darker than a Narnia clone. And she plays the hot music teacher the boy is boning for. It was also better than expected, though it too kind of was lame for a long time till it got to it's good spot.
