What have YOU traded in recently? What For?
« on: August 18, 2007, 08:08:21 PM »

Got dull real fast. Skills were boring, Equipment all looked the same.

Actually enjoying Luminous Arc way more, so this one went back. *boggle*

Used these to pick up:

Phantom Brave (for the 'collection')

Heroes of Mana (to satisfy my odd 'bad' mana games fetish). I figure if I can give Grim Grimoire a green light while its still a pretty mediocre japanese RTS, ill give Heroes of Mana the benefit of the doubt for now.

I rarely trade in stuff because I just feel like I'm being ripped off.  I would rather give the game to a friend if they're giving me  1/2 of what it's selling for.  Blockbuster has some great deals sometimes though that help you break even.  BB also consistenly gives much better prices than Gamestop.

I trade in stuff, even if I'm being ripped off, because I just hate having a massive backlog of games (plus I'm short on $$$ right now).  Took advantage of the deal they had when trading in handheld games.

I traded in:
Dynasty Warriors (PSP), I liked, but since I downloaded a game save and rarely played, let it go.
Legend of the Heroes (PSP), not bad but rarely played
Legend of the Heroes II (PSP), not bad but rarely played
Tokobot (PSP), good concept, but it was stuck behind several platformers and was never going to play again

some PS3 game I rarely played

you get more for sure, but it's too much trouble for most folks.  You put them on ebay or somewhere else?

You said that you categorized them but do you have it in spreadsheet format or something?  I'll like to see your gigantic collection of games and movies one day.

Guitar Hero II (360)
Hotel Dusk

I miraculously got $80 for it, so I pre-paid Bioshock and preordered Halo 3.

I got rid of:

-Final Fantasy XII International (PS2): Too much Japanese, couldn't enjoy it properly.  So I started playing the U.S. version, which seems kind of fun, but kind of a step backwards from International, plus far uglier on my TV since I can only play it in 480i now.  Why didn't Square include a 480p option??  Game cost me 5500 yen or so; I got like 4000 yen for it.  Not too bad!

-Samurai Warriors 2 (360): Only because I decided to switch to the PS2 version instead.  Next week the XL version releases, and I want to make full use of it.  I got 3600 yen for the game, and the PS2 version costs 3300 yen, so it was just like switching them out.  I love selling stuff at the local shop here!

-Rockman ZX Advent (DS):
Got rid of this a little while ago.  Just wasn't feeling it...never beat the original, which I still have, too.  I don't know if I'll try this again when the U.S. version comes out.  I'm burned out on Mega Man...nothing is ever as good as the original three on NES.

Picked up:

-Samurai Warriors 2 (PS2): Although I ended up playing more Sengoku Basara 2 in the meantime.

-Saints Row (360): They had a used copy, so I picked it up.  Uh...what the hell is up with the frame rate?  I'll give it a shot, but Crackdown is just so much better.

-Otona No Kao Training (DS):
This was a present for the wife.  The included camera is better than I thought it would be.  Seems kinda neat, I guess.  She only tried it for a bit, and made some goofy faces.

Plus I had a 1000 yen point card to use, yeah!  And then I pre-ordered the PSP-2000.  It got confusing when they asked me if I wanted the TV device.  I thought they meant the cable, and the lady says "that's 6000 yen."  :o WTF?!  But yeah, give it to me.  :'(  Then I ask about getting the D-Terminal cable (for 480p), and get this weird look.  Another clerk gets a magazine, and it turns out they were talking about the TV adaptor to WATCH TV on the PSP.  I told them I wanted to do the opposite, and they seemed confused and had no idea what I was talking about until they read it in the same magazine.   :lol

I never trade in stuff, except for when GameStop offers crazy deals.  I traded in my DS Lite and my DS games when they ran a promo giving $20 on hardware, 20% extra trade-in credit for all games, and 20% extra trade-in credit for 3 games or more.  Then I used my Edge card.  And then I used another 20% off used games coupon with the 10% Edge discount, plus my employee discount on stuff.  It was awesome.

The best deal they've got going on right now is $10 for every 2 PSP or DS games you trade in (in addition to whatever the credit is).  This kid found Harvest Moon on DS at Best Buy for $10 new, which is exactly the trade-in credit at GameStop, plus got the $10 extra credit for every two he traded in

I dunno, I feel like I should eBay some stuff but that's so much work. Is the trade-in at Gamespot going to be that poor?

Poor Alien Syndrome, it's fun for 3 hours, then dies an ignoble boring death.

I never trade in stuff.  The last time I traded in stuff was during the PSX era, and I still remember what I got rid of - Rave Racer, Dead or Alive, and, uh...some PSX RPG which was even worse than Beyond the Beyond - Legend of Greandadria or something.
