Preferably something in mystery/horror/fantasy/thriller/suspense.  Something I haven't seen.  Something good.  And most importantly, something that's not overly long or melodramatic.

Also, not porn.  I've got a lot to work to do and I don't want to be that distracted.

hey, I got a movie for you that's all of those.

its slightly melodramatic, but its also funny as hell and kind of freaky.  Its one of my favorite movies in the "Tonal Rollarcoaster" genre.  Its freaking great.  See it, SEE IT, SEE IT.

The Man Who Would be King

Sean Connery & Michael Caine in the prime of their lives, directed by John Huston and based on a ripping adventure yarn by Kipling. Two ex-sergeants scheme to bankrupt a small, idyllic kingdom of its treasure. Why this isn't more people's favorite movie is beyond me. Beautiful cinematography, fantastic performances by two wonderful actors, and just a DAMN FUN TIME FOR ALL. It's a feel-good adventure movie like they just don't make anymore.

Parents, a horror movie starring Randy Quaid and Mary Beth Hurt as typical 1950s-style suburban couple, whose son begins to suspect they may be cannibals.  Truly bizarre, and I bet you've never seen it.  I made a thread about it very recently.

Also, The Man Who Would Be King DVD sucks.  It's a very old DVD and you have to stop the movie and flip it halfway through.  Warner Bros. needs to do a special edition of it, and soon.

Porn?   :o Many people swore to me that it was the best Pirates movie that they've ever seen.

Ok, two more.  Both are watchable and are from your desired genres.

1.  suspense/law movie w/ more drama than suspense

2 horror/slasher.  More suspense than gore which is refreshing for the genre.

Ravenous

a rather awesome horror film about cannibals.  Unusual in its period setting, crude-oil-black-humor, very strange (but awesome) musical score, and having a very chickenshit protagonist.  Need another reason to watch it?  How's about...

David Arquette takes the loss, hard.

Its a great movie, and its the kind of distinctive, risky sort of film that I'm just plain surprised that it came out of a major studio.

That IS one of my favorite movies, ever.  Have they ever made an updated DVD of this?  I only have the flipper disc from way back.

Also, rent Gunga Din to go along with it, the two movies compliment each other very well (for obvious reasons).  In Gunga Din you get to see where Spielberg and Lucas ripped off a bunch of stuff for the Indiana Jones flicks.
