What's the longest you've ever played a single game?

I'm sure I've put hundreds of hours into Super Mario Bros. 3 in its various incarnations (NES, as part of the All-Stars collection, and then on its GBA release).  As far as RPGs go, the one with the longest playtime for me was easily Dragon Warrior VII, which I put 144 hours into, according to the game clock.  Considering how many times I replayed Final Fantasy VI when it first came out (at least 3 full playthroughs, each one clocking in at at least 60 hours), that one qualifies as well.

What about you?  How many hours of your life have you wasted on a single game?

I tend to sink my time into multiplayer games - I can't tell you how many hours I've wasted on Team Fortress Classic, Counter-Strike, Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 2 and Rainbow Six: Vegas.

Outside of those, the only other games I've put 200+ hours into are StarCraft and Diablo 2.

That I can remember, I put about 150+ hours into Oblivion and I'm on my second playthrough.

For multiplayer, I'm sure I've put over a 100 hours into R6:vegas and I've only had that for a month.  I'm about halfway to captain which is when I'd be all right with not trying to rank up so fast because then you get all the weapons.

don't think i've ever racked up more than 70 hours on a single game.  and that game was FF3 (SNES).  i usually have too many games to do an entire second playthrough, but i'm considering doing that for dds 1 & 2.

Probably FFVIII for me. I played through it, got up to the end of disc 3 and realised I couldnt beat Adel so I started over. I played thorough again and completed it. I played through AGAIN, this time I did EVERYTHING, collected EVERY card, and beat Omega Weapon. My game clock for the 3rd playthrough alone was 103 hours, add the 1st two games and that about 170 hours all up

Spent hours upon hours playing original SSB and later Melee when I was in college. Most time I spent on an RPG was probably Arc the Lad 2, DQ8, or FFXII, at nearly 80 hours each.

Super Mario Bros. 3 and GTA3 are probably the single-player games I've played the most over the years, but they pale in comparison to multiplayer games. Goldeneye, Halo, and SSBM are the most played console multiplayer games, but once again they pale in comparison to a few PC games. Probably the only games I've played over 200 hours would be CS:S, DoD beta, and Starcraft.

Probably a toss-up between:

- Quake II (mods; mostly Action Quake 2, which I played for several years)
- Goldeneye (4 player; like everyday for 2-3 years, Licence to Kill, Pistols, Complex, First to 20)

Probably Goldeneye, but its close.

I spent about 100 hours or so dicking around with the CE tool packaged in with Morrowind.  I'm pretty sure I spent the extra time to play through MGS1 on Extreme with zero deaths as well.

Pretty much.  And WoW   Fuck Blizzard, I'll never buy one of their highly addictive and repetitive games ever again.

Oh, and I cant forget Duke Nukem 3D. Me and a buddy played Dukematches over the ol' modem every day for a year or two. Still probably my favorite shooter ever, levels/weapons-wise.

SIx hours a day on average for Dark Age of Camelot over the span of 18 months. My WoW binge wasn't much better, though it was far shorter.

In high school I played Civ2 every day for ten hours a day for like eleven weeks straight during one summer.

Street Fighter III: Third Strike, without a doubt.  I've played it for at least a few hours a week since 2001.

Next is probably Ultima Online, although I know I've sunk comparable time into TFC and Counter-strike.

Probably WoW for me. Two years ago I played that all summer and logged in for a month total. So 1/3 of my time was spent playing WoW. The other third was proably sleeping.

I was even looged in for 24 hours at one time.

I've put in hundreds of hours on FF6 SNES. I played that game through so many times. At around 40 hours a play through I know I've easily topped 200 hours.

I've played other shorter games multiple times but I don't know if they add up the same.

I know what you mean. I played 3.1 (beta) for a long ass time, because my computer could only get like 10-20 FPS when I tried retail. I actually upgraded my computer just so I could play DOD in 2004ish.

Super Metroid-I played this game countless times with 100 percent runs
FFVI-Rented this game because it too expensive for me at the time.  I had to replay the game over and over because my save files were erased or saved over by previous renters.  I also taught all party members all spells via Espers and maxed their levels.  RPGs weren't as popular at the time so after a while I was the only one who rented the copy, which allowed my to put more hours into the game.
Chrono Trigger-Rented again.  A friend lent me his copy for a while and I maxed out all character's levels and got all endings.  I replayed the game for pleasure again and again
FFVII-Memory cards FTW.  I maxed out the clock at 99.59
Tekken 2/3 on PS One and arcade.  A lot of quarters wasted and one PS one didn't survive while I was trying to master multi part throws with King.
