I was reading that the three shuttles currently in use will be retired in roughly three years time, what comes next? Which agency got the contract to make the new shuttle?

My scout master was Wayne Hale, manager of the Space Shuttle Program.

He got my brother VIP tickets to sit with the astronauts familys at the last launch.

Perhaps you missed the part about him being the manager of the space shuttle program. He's been on all the major news networks whenever something comes up, like the shuttle explosion a few years ago.

The next version is gonna be the Orion, aka the Crew Exploration Vehicle... which was awarded to Lockheed Martin  :'( A number of my friends were on the capture team to try and win the contract for us, but alas, we lost :(

The space shuttles look awesome but Orion looks like something from the sixties.
