I trust your opinion on jrpgs. What type of jrpg is it? The type where you go on wild and crazy adventures, in the Dragon Quest/Chrono Trigger/Skies of Arcadia vein, or what? That's what it looks like and that's what makes it look appealing.

Give me the skinny.

Well, truthfully, I haven't played the full game, only the demo! But from what I've read, all signs point to it being a lighthearted, traditional take on the genre, featuring a system very similar to FF5's job system. The main complaints that I see from the game are: screen tearing, a slow start, and it's pretty traditional. I personally liked how you can charge your attack/spell for a bit, it adds a slight risk/reward as you have to make decisions like "should I attack before enemy X gets his turn in, or should I charge up for a bit".

Wouldn't it be cool if Himuro had downloaded the demo on his new 360?

Its FF5 mixed with FF10 in terms of combat, with FF9's super attacks.

I'm at the last dungeon, so far it's been a good ride, and there's loads more to the game world since I didn't bother with any of the optional sidequests

if you like console RPGs you're going to love it, the animations are simply fantastic... the latter parts of the game do have some irritating slowdown at times, but nothing that really affects the enjoyment of the game

overall I'd give it something like 8.8... it's a good sentimental story, and it somehow gives me Skies of Arcadia vibes, but still it plays a little too safe, there's little in the way of risk or surprise to the plot... but it's still a quality package overall
