Birthday it is, happy it is not. My father suffered a mild stroke on Sunday so it is a bit of a subdued celebration, i.e., I am getting drunk alone. So it is just like any other day over the last x number of years.

It went badly. I was actually enthusiastic and looking forward to the interview, but after the weekend I was back to my usual depressed self.

Happy birthday, Malek.  Hope you and your father both feel better soon.  It's possible to train your eye to make better use of what's available after a stroke so tell your father to keep his hopes up.  Good luck.
