It looks like crap! I mean, if you're hard up for a mediocre RPG, why not wait for Eternal Sonata? Looks leagues better and it comes with a nifty faceplate, no less. Fuck this animu bullshit!

BD also has Uematsu so I guess like ... 3/5 of the CT dream team if you count Mitsuda, Uematsu, and Horii.

There were only 3 members of the "dream team" originally, though. Mitsuda wasn't included. :'(

I preordered Eternal Sonata 'cuz of the faceplate, the demo of ES was cool but I'm not too enthralled by the JGAFFers impressions, they seem to rate BD much more favorably. I'm getting both, I don't care (and then never gonna play them)

I'm at the last dungeon; it's actually a very good game, even if the plot and the overall gameplay are a bit too standard

and it does look better than Eternal Sonata after the novelty of that game's cel-shading wears off... some of Blue Dragon's environments and monster animations are simply out of this world

people just await Eternal Sonata because they want turn-based combat to disappear entirely

Blue Dragon sounds like my kind of traditional JRPG. It sounds like a dungeon hack without that much focus on plot. That's what I like.

There's no question that Mitsuda is more talented than Uematsu, it's just that Mitsuda decided entirely too early into his career to hang up the boots. Now he only does shitty handheld RPGs and animu.

He game music's Tiki Barber, except even more extreme.

I thought it looked nice enough to warrant a purchase, which I did when the Asian version came out a few months back. Haven't put too much time into the game, but it looks good to me. I like Akira Toriyama art though.

Eternal Sonata DOES look fucking better than that game. A LOT fucking better.

If I'm going to go play an RPG, I will go play FFXII, since I haven't beaten it yet. OR, better yet, Persona 3, which should be coming through my Gameznflix.

I'm getting Blue Dragon sometime. I originally hated the demo, but not I like it. Eternal Sonota is still better though. I hear Blue Dragon gets great later on in the game, so I'm excited.

Someone actually hated the Eternal Sonota demo.

That demo was too much fun IMO. Artwork and battle system really rocked. Only reason I may hold out on the game is because it will probably come to PS3 (No only on 360 logo, and the esrb.org had it listed before. Now the ESRB doesn't even list Eternal Sonota, which must mean something).

My big problem with ES was the extremely small towns and the super linear paths in dungeons/fields... I hope that's just because it was an early area in the game, and that towns/dungeons/fields will grow in size and be a bit more open.

I don't understand why anyone likes Eternal Sonata.

-Shit Art style (although this isn't surprise)
-Shit battle system with shoddy collision detection
-Shit dungeon design
-Shit out of dungeon camera

I guess its just all the Japafag animu fans that love it, but that demo felt like a disaster from start to finish. Nothing went right in it.
