My DS has a crack.

There's a small crack along the left hinge connecting the screen.  It's not messing the system up and everything seems fine, but I wonder if it's going to lead to the system breaking.  Does Nintendo fix this kind of thing?

Mine has the crack too, but it seems to work fine.  It also has a single dead pixel on the top screen.

Send it to Nintendo if it is still under warranty.  They have solid customer service.  Go to nintendo.com and to the customer service area to call them up to see if you are eligible for a free repair.  Same thing happened to me and I got new hinge free of change since it was under warranty.   I honestly think they just replaced the whole top screen since it felt so new.

If I recall a good number of DS Lites were affected with hinge cracks.  Nintendo later issued complimentary repairs under the one year warranty, since the issue was first noticed during the first months of the DS lite North American launch.  They still offer free repairs under the warranty and they even issued a statement saying they would fix any DS with that problem.

I don't know how much it would cost outside the one-year warranty.  But I would recommended to anyone to get it fixed especially if it is under warranty.  I got my repaired DS within a week after sending it to a service center.
