New Computer: Buy on Credit or Save

I recently moved into a new apartment.  I gave my computer (Mac Mini w/Apple 20'' Cinema display) to my younger brother.  My generosity has left me without any computer except my work computer.  The move took a good chunk of my savings, plus buying stuff for the apartment.  Sometimes I ask myself if should of stayed with roommates, but when I get to a quiet home after work I feels its worth it.   

My questions is this:  Should buy a new computer on my credit card or should I just save for one?  I'm considering the lower end MacBook.  I also have $5000 of credit card debt which I plan to off in 6 months.

What should I do?

If you really need a machine, you could always ask around your techie friends and see if they have some PC they aren't using to spare. Most people I know who are PC-inclined have enough parts lying around to build at least one machine completely from scratch.

Credit is a bitch. Especially credit lines through those electronic boutiques or whatever. Ive been paying off my stupid Circuit City card for a while cause of the stupid interest.
