Wild Arms 5 didn't sound that good based on opinions from EGM's review crew. Everyone agreed that Persona 3 was better. 1 guy liked it a lot but Shane thought it was average while Donahoe thought it was crap.

I already like the series before 5 but people who generally found the series mediocre now finding it really good have got me really psyched for it. Appearently Shouta on GAF said theres oodles of shit to do (Subquests)...so thats like...omg

Wild Arms - Very average, for its time, but with a unique setting and good music.

Wild Arms 2 - Major improvement (even though the translation made the story incomprehensible).

Wild Arms 3 - Meh.

3 rocked, 4 was a lot of fun even if it was balanced horribly. I have high hopes for 5.

Im used to people not agreeing with me on the WA games tho. Theyre just distinguished mentally-challenged fellows and im the best.

Raquel is like Orlandu x calculator and with chainable time-stop to boot. most fights involved letting her meter fill up then having her kill everything in a single round.

the three leads (and the three supports) are analogous to skies' characters; happy-go-lucky adventure atmosphere and narrative.

behind the back 3D perspective; large free-roaming world; similar puzzle-heavy dungeon design; discoveries.

how it is not like skies: no airships. :'( no moonstone cannon. :'( no hot hot hot fina pirate costume. :'(

on the plus side: deeper battles.

hex-based combat.

more sidequests.

it has giant flying ancient robots, though! actually, it MIGHT have an airship, since the other wild arms titles have had one.
