I'm going to New Orleans tomorrow. What the shit should I do?

My boyfriend is taking me to New Orleans tomorrow for Southern Decadence.  It's basically the gay Mardi Gras.  I'm kinda nervous.  Don't know why.

What the hell should I do in New Orleans?  I hear the food is good.  And the music is good.  I hear the buildings are pretty.  I'm sure there will be cute boys.  But any other suggestions?  I'm staying in the French quarter for five days, and I leave tomorrow.  Tell me what to do.

don't leave the french quarter.  That's what you do.  A lot of the city is still a mess.  

To be honest, there's not much to see now outside of the French Quarters IN the city.  If you want to go outside the city, go on some cool airboat rides and see crocodiles and stuff.  Those are fun.

yeah.  i've been a few times.  I went before Katrina, went right after Katrina and then went about 2 months ago.  It was still pretty shitty in most of the city. 

They rebuilt the French Quarter mostly though.  Just hang out there.  It's fairly safe and tourist-friendly again.

I really would not suggest going anywhere else in the city.  Some parts are really depressing.

Probably all you really need to do is drink a lot of alcohol with your friends and the fun will create itself.
