Has anything good ever come out of these Top 10 Digg lists?
« on: August 29, 2007, 01:55:44 PM »
These things are so damn pathetic and useless. Sappy, stereotypical advice that often doesn't even make sense, or when they center around works of fiction or real people, they always encompass very few of the major players.

Digg sucks so much, along with this whole "Net 2.0" craze and any site like Youtube that is also a part of it. It's making the whole Internet stupid and its users always eager to seek the extreme of everything. Giving any kind of power to the masses is an awful, awful idea. I also hate their "DUH LET'S VANDALIZE SOME RANDOM PERSONAL SITE/PERSON BECAUSE IT'S COOL!" mob mentality. No wonder that so many people begin to fucking resent that site along with Kevin Rose.

I like Digg but one thing that really gets me is that the voice of reason comments almost always get dugg down.

It's a good news hub, and on select topics the quality of user commentary is quite good. Other than that, there's just too much trivial bullshit that doesn't even deserve to be discussed in the first place.

And you're right, the most digged comment in history is someone vouching that a guy couldn't ever possibly make a girlfriend over World of Warcraft.
