aye - just got my copy today. My included Jabra BT headset is charging, then I will be online.

Who else from Evilbore is playing this? I am 'abrader' on PSN - lets play.










The included Jabra headset is smaller than my older Jabra BT headset...its not nearly as small or as cool as my Apple BT headset, but at least it has volume control on it where my iphone BT headset by Apple does not.

Buying the retail package for 20$ more seems worth it with the bundled headset - but really SONY should be including the headset with the PS3, not Warhawk. I did need a dedicated PS3 headset since my iphone headset isnt really appropiate.

The extra movies on the disk are 'OK' There are new trailers for Uncharted, Eye of Judgement, Lair, Ratchet and Clank and a few other titles. Eye of Judgement looks interesting - Lair doesnt look as good in this new video on the install DVD.

This disk basically installs Warhawk V1.0 - my headset isnt charged yet so I havent tried to go online to know if there are additonal updates.

I have been waiting a long long time for this game - I hope it can hold my attention for a while.

I look forward to all fo the collectable/config options for my soldier.

What side will you be on? Eucadians or the Chernovans?

something else worth mentioning - the retail version doesnt let you install it on the HDD and then just launch it from the XMB - you actually have to put in the game disk to launch it.

I could have worded what I meant better - it does indeed install to the HDD, but you have to put in the retail disk to launch the game....where if you download it from the PSN store, you can launch it from the XMB.

wow - V1.x cant come soon enough - I have a bitch list of complaints...

- in the character config screen, it lets me pick a 'deathmatch' (non team) game character appearance, but my overall army style selection doesnt stick/save...no matter what army I pick, it saves my choice as Eucadian.

- In the server filter screen, setting it for game size < or = 32 players does nothing...it still shows me every game of all sizes

- In the server filter screen "show games in my region only" is set to on by default severely limiting the number of good ping time games you will see in the list.

- and the worst yet - both times I have entered the game online, shortly after my PS3 freezes forcing me to hard reboot it.

gonna go try again - I just reinstalled it.

This must be a bug effecting the retail version only as pleanty of other people are online and have been since it was available for download.

ouch, glad i'm renting this.  considering how long the beta was, you'd think they ironed out most, if not all bugs.  poor sony, can't catch a break.

ok odd- for some reason now I have played several games without it locking uyp once. god damn when this game works it is great.

I am really liking the dogfight only missions....in the canyons....now I just need soundtrack support so I can rock the Capcom UN Squadron soundtrack while i blast bitches out of the dessert sky.

I did disable media server support in the XMB settings menu and reboot the PS3...i read somewhere that was a problem in the beta...im not sure if thats what caused it to suddenly work well....

anyway the game delivers per my expectations despite the hour and 3-5 games of fukkery when i first tried it earlier...

The voice chat seems to be hit or miss....god dammit why cant SONY get that shyt right? its not rocket science....

Some games I wont hear anyone, but at the end of the round i will hear some guys talking thru the TV speaker as if the system thinks I dont have a headset on

I also un derastand how the voice chat works now - it is consistant...

At the end of each game, where you exit the round to go join another game, the PS3 stiops the audio session with the BT headset...when you start a new game , you simply need to push the button on the side of the headset once, as if you are answering a call....

You will know if your headset is on or not by pushing the left stick - if you hear an activation noise letting you know you are on the air, you know it is working - if you dont hear the noise push the button on the headset once to open the communication....

It kinda justified it . I'm really diggin the game. Going from Land to Air and back down is real seamless quick and the action keeps going. This will probably end up filling the void I had when I stopped playing BF2.

Its better than SW Battlefront...(The other games I like of this genre - I have the XBOX editions)

Holy fukk earlier I was dogfighting with this guy by one of the big towers, i was about to blow up so i ejected right out of my warhawk and onto a tower ledge, ran around the corner to dodge his missle shot, and then peaked back around and took him out with the RPG.

The action in this game in insane fun. Its like a hollywood movie at times.

There seems to be a lot of danger from ground fire. I guess thats a good thing since it doesn't allow Warhawks to slaughter ground units and be invincible (like Aircrafts are in BF2). But, Warhawks have lots of weapons at their disposals that I think makes up for that (Cluster bombs and stuff). You'll just have to be more carefull with ground assualts when in a Warhawk (and choose your weapons wisely).

I think the balance is fine...its like there are 2 things going on at once . the air battle and the ground battle...the two can mingle, but not the best idea...I do love taking out warhawks with assualt rifle fire tho...not easy to do if they are ding what they are supposed to be doing...

Its better than battlefront where it tries to mash potato the two (ground and air) batles together in a half assed (yet fun ) way.... this games air combat is amazing really - it coud be a stand alone game of its own...

The games sense of scale is katamari damacy cool.

I had the game freeze 2 more times ...

Both times happened when I joined a game someone on my friends list was in...

- first join attempt it froze right after the map had loaded...

- second join attempt it froze after I had been in the game for like 45 seconds...

I was going to leave my PS3 on as a ranked dedicated server tonight but they are doing maintinance soon and again tomorrow night (hopefully hotfixes)

they really gotta fix the lock issue.

its infrequent, but a real buzzkill when it happens.

I always get stuck on the team who has no clue what to do in zones. They all hop in Warhawks and just fly around, while I try to drive around in the jeep trying to take the zones ALL BY MYSELF.
