the remote play on this is neet - but you cant do many of the things you need to do on the PSP to play the game properly..

LAIR looks great on the PSP screen.

what's the point?  the rogue squadron games let you use the GBA as a little map thing or something stupid but this turns off the TV.

This doesnt "turn off the TV" the user just showed his PSP in front of his LCD to show the PS3 being in remote view mode....

The point is that with that PSP/PS3 connection, you can aceess all fo your XMB content, movies, music and certain games (LAIR is the first to work over remote play) wirelessly fron anywhere within wireless range of your PS3, or from anywhere in the world over the internet with you PSP.

Lets say yer involved in some hardcore RTS clan or something and you dont want to miss your ownline games while on a trip - you could log into your PS3 with your PSP from the remote location and play the online PS3 game with your friends.

if you're playing remotely I assume they remade the assets for PSP?  that's actually pretty impressive if they were able to get a game like lair to work on PSP.

The PS3 is still doing the rendering.  The PS3's just streaming the output to the PSP.  Still a pretty cool feature.  Too bad it's wasted on Lair.

streaming usually uses a form of tiling, ala RDP.

as with rdp, that depends on your connection, ape. 54g wireless lan with no activity? probably not. hevay activity or over the internet? probably chops a bit, since refresh is tied to latency (and a few predictive/interpolative algorithms). in fact, i'll bet the implementation is just that: rdp.

doesn't it have to connect to the PS3 (60 GB)?  or would it use the router?

I thought it was doing it with the PS3's wifi when you're close by.
