I just got into a film festival in portland if anyone wants to go.

I am writing to inform and congratulate you of your short film’s acceptance into the 2007 10 or Less Film Festival! For six years running 10 Fest (formerly known as the Portland International Short Short Film Festival) has showcased incredible, original short films from around the United States and the world. As part of the screening process your film was judged by a panel of both film enthusiasts and professional filmmakers and was evaluated on the merits of creativity, production value, and aesthetic vision. On behalf of everyone involved with 10 Fest, I want to thank you for sharing your film with us, and we can’t wait to show it off at the festival!

Your film will screen in one of three shorts programs playing October 18th-20th at Portland, Oregon’s historic Hollywood Theatre. The festival will also include several parties and events, the details of which will be posted on our website. We’d like to offer you two festival passes, which will be available for pickup at the Hollywood Theatre and allow you and one guest access to all events. In addition, your film is eligible for the prestigious Best of the Fest Award and accompanying $1000 cash prize, to be conferred on the last day of screenings.

If you have the means, I highly recommend you attend the festival, which, in addition to being a hell of a good time, will give you the opportunity to watch your film in a full theater and participate in post-screening Q&A sessions. It’s also a great chance to network and meet others in the profession. If traveling from out of town, we have arranged with the Jupiter Hotel to offer discounted lodging accommodations (easy online reservations can be made through the 10 Fest website). So please let us know as soon as possible if you will be attending, and we’ll do everything we can to make your visit an unforgettable experience.

A few things, details, etc.:

1) If you didn’t send any high-resolution (300 dpi) stills with your submission we’ll need one to print in the festival program. If you have any stills available, please send them via email in a jpeg format to the address below.

2) If there exists a higher quality DVD miniDV (accepted in SP mode only) version of your film we would be happy to use it in the screening.

3) We will be doing press, marketing and PR work regarding the fest and the films being featured. We strongly encourage you to also promote your participation in 10 Fest. Your selection is an honor that deserves promotion.

4) Please find your entry information on the attached spreadsheet and verify spelling and punctuation of the director's name, film title, and synopsis (some synopses have been changed, but you have the final say on your film's summary). The information on this document represents EXACTLY how it will be written in the program and online.

5) If your production country of origin is the United States, please send me the primary city and state in which the production took place.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us via email or phone. You will be receiving an official letter of recognition in the mail shortly. The festival site, www.10orlessfest.com, will maintain up-to-date information and announcements. And thank you again so much for sharing your film with us.
