I found it in one of my folders from a few years ago, but after some poking around I guess it was false. Apparently the order of the states is pretty much correct, but the spread of the IQ levels is larger than it really is. I think I'll pretend it's real anyway to perpetuate my loathing of the deep south. Fucking hicks.

Mormons are serious about schooling? Since when? I grew up LDS and I seriously felt, especially in the ward where I was before I graduated high school that its a very anti intellectual religion.

Honestly with all the group think and home schooling I'm not surprised that Utah is that low.

I'll have to give my roommate shit about South Dakota being so low.

The Mormons I knew were all about their grades and school success, half were homeschooled, but that's not really worse than public education level and my actually be better.

This list is fake. It was creation of a Usenet poster.  From what I recall the fake IQ scores were derived by using per capita state income data, or at least that was the claim. Income and IQ correlate, but not very well. Other people have used standardized test scores to estimate a state's IQ (like the SAT). That is better than income, at least.

Anyway the only way Connecticut could have such a high average IQ was if every non-Jew in the state died*. And the only way Mississippi would have such a low average IQ... well... actually.


*ashkenazi jews have an average IQ between 107 and 115.
