even the supposed "best" of them, doa4 (in terms of online experience), wasn't playable.
Aw, come on...I remember playing you and MAF and not hearing complaints.
DoA4 was ok most of the time, but god damn were there some issues sometimes. DoA4 is thankfully a very shallow and loose fighter so lag doesnt ruin an experience. Anything else tho is just settling, unless of course you live in a different country and refuse to acknowledge that fiber optic infrastructures are not everywhere.
You know, we've been down this road before:
1. I have ADSL here, not fiber optic.
2. I played plenty of fighters online back in Atlanta. The only game I ever found unplayable was Guilty Gear XX #Reload on Xbox.
3. It IS your connection that's to blame. Results vary. Location varies, etc.
I've been playing FFS lately. Most of the time I get lag free matches, but occasionally I do get some (bad) lag. I played a guy in France and it was impossible to really do anything, but people in the U.S. and Japan have been fine. Very smooth for the most part. It's not perfect, but these games are more than playable online.
Hell even Bleach DS 2nd on DS surprised me.
