24 inch makes a big difference, not just for the size but also the resolution. 22 is 1680x1050. 24 is 1920x1200. With a 24", you can get 1:1 1080P with the 360 and PS3. The 360 upscales all games to 1080P. The PS3 currently only outputs all movies at 1080p, for games it's still mostly 720p but most 24" monitors also have a 1:1 option for 720p. 22" monitors usually have more limited scaling options so the games will be stretched a little oddly. You can get some 24" monitors for 500 now but they're of pretty low quality. If you want to get a 24", you should save a little more until you have about $600 for a good quality 24".
