Is this the Transformers effect in action?  First Voltron is announced as a movie adaptation (with the story changed around so that the robot pilots are rebellious teens in post-apocalyptic New York, lollll), and now they're making a Robotech movie (Robotech being that horrible bastardization of Macross) with Tobey Maguire starring as the lead?

Valkyries/Veritechs are some of the best robot designs ever.  You just KNOW Hollywood is going to fuck with them Transformers-style until they're unrecognizable.
