EvilBore mod elections
« on: October 02, 2006, 05:24:58 PM »
Am I the only person utterly annoyed by the lack of action we see out of the current admin's/mods? I've been asking for avatar changes for over a month now, yet there has been no attempt to fix this. No wonder we can't attract new members: why would anyone care about this board if the admins don't?

Personally I think MAF has done a good enough job modding; there's not much to mod, which helps. I rib him and shit, but he's cool. But Willco? I think it's time for him to step down. And Cloudwalking too. I'm a procrastinator too, but what the fuck.

I don't want to be a mod; I doubt I'd be a good mod. Personally I think Himuro, whiteAcid, and BlueTsunami would make good mods. BlueTsunami seems like he's good at doing stuff on the internet, so I'm sure he's qualified to admin.

(Image removed from quote.)

I tried anal sex seven years ago with a former boyfriend. It was a spur of the moment decision, no lube, no nothing. He got inside me gradually, uncomfortably... and then I asked him to get out. There was nothing pleasurable about it. After that, I had two more boyfriends who were very interested in anal penetration and stimulation. I let one boyfriend stimulate my rosebud, but found nothing pleasurable from it, in fact, all I could think of was "there's a finger up my ass!" And again, this was with no lube. I refused to engage in any anal stimulation with these other two partners, giving or receiving.

Willco is not stepping down, and none of you are as cool as Cloudwalking.

Personally I dont trust anyone on this forum to objectively elect a moderator, I suggest current mods stay and a position is opened up for an elected mod.

Himuro: Not a good mod, ruled by emotions and Game of the Week.

whiteACID: Not around enough, and the threads ive seen are all 'WhAT DO I DO I HAVE SO MANY HOT GUYS 2 FUK!'

BlueTsunami: If I had to pick someone to ADD in the ONE SINGLE ELECTED MOD SPOT, it would be this guy. He has contributed the most, and his threads arent complete freakshows.

Mods need to show MODERATION in all things, we can't have wacky woo look at me.

I agree with MAF's idea.  somebody to just give tags.

It is kinda ridiculous that we can't update our avatars but ESPECIALLY not being able to give ourselves tags. That's so GAf snob-ish.

I'm voting for BlueTsunami no matter what. I like MAF's idea though: current mods, and we add one more mod. Then after one year (?) everyone has to be re-elected or lose their modship.

I really dont care if people get their own tags *if thats even possible* and the avatars thing. Whats the Avatar thing again?

Simply put, Evilbore is not a business. This place is privately funded and supported during the downtime of its administration. We do listen to complaints, but we also have crap going on outside this forum.

This isnt about us keeping you down, its about weird amounts of importance being placed some trivial crap. I mean I wanna see better posts from a few members but you dont see me runnin around houndin you guys for entire threads of flirty emoticons.

Im sorry, but Willco, Cloud, and myself will probably be mods forever. That's just the way it is. I dont mind getting called out if I step outta line, but expect some major fucking ass kicking if its just someone being a fucking crybaby.

Ill speak plain, I dont trust a good number of you. I would probably leave the forum if, for example, Phoenix Dark was mod, or demi, or any of that certain ilk that may be comedy, but have no clue how to actually nurture an environment that supports conversations outside of the nonsense they like to babble on about.

(MAFs opinion in no way reflects the overall opinion of Evilbore and cannot be taken out of context to use against Evilbore Inc.)

That's been the case from day one, it's not my fault your fancy college education hasn't improved your reading skills.  The goal is to let the moderators do the bulk of the moderating so the admin is as hands off as possible.

Democracy is just a bad idea, period. Just have referendums on bad mods. If a mod gets a bunch of bitching, post a referendum poll and axe him if he/she gets like 33% hate.

Yea I don't even want modship, I'd fucking ban people left and right.  I get very intolerant sometimes when I've come home from a rough day and people like saint corny are spewing the most distinguished mentally-challenged shit, I'd ban him in 2 fucking seconds.

On the other hand, Catz has always and always will be a very fair admin/mod, maybe you should ask her if she's up for the challenge.  She's at home most of the day now anyways due to online classes.  I don't necessarily speak much for her on it, since I don't know if she actually does care to do it or not, but I'm saying if you did convince her, she'd do a great job with it.

Honestly I dont want anymore MODs. One of the biggest problems with GAF is the number of god damned mods. They have all given up on consistant policy driven moderation and now moderate based off of their daily MSN Horoscope.

No problem dude.

True, it's not your "job". But would you agree that an administrator would have a responsibility to keep his website in good shape?

That's all I'm asking. I really like EvilBore. I know I act like an asshole virgin dickwad, but it's all in good fun (for the most part). This is a great site and I would love to see it expand. But in order to do that we need serious administrators who can provide this board with good features. Avatars are seen as a "basic" on message boards, and when a board doesn't have that feature it stands out.

Phoenix Dark:

It IS our responsibility, but we have to factor in everything else thats going on in our LIVES. Most of the admin has a lot going on outside of the website.

Its not that we're ignoring you guys, or just dont care, we just have a lot to do and the forum doesnt have the benefit of resting on top of that pile.

Granted, its probably a small thing, but its just like any other small thing that gets put off. It happens. I can say its something we're going to get to and you can say something back, but in the end it gets done when it gets done.

However by saying something about it you improve the chances of it getting done sooner than later ;)

There are not enough posters to warrant any extra mods. The technical issues with avatars need to be sorted by an admin or server administrator who's familiar with the forum software. Adding or removing mods won't fix that.

The avatars are a unique, undocumented glitch that'll probably call for a complete forum upgrade, which cloudwalking has not had the time to do at night as not to interrupt the forum and I'm not comfortable doing solo (I'm knowledgable, but I'm also relatively new to all of this).  And since our user base leans PST, it's unfair to asking cloudwalking to stay up to 2 AM to 3 AM her time to help or do it outright.  We're not ignoring you, but is a balancing act.

Also, I am not available every night.  Sometimes I've got to wake up butt early for big projects at work or say, go to meet the folks on weekends.

Why would anyone want to be a mod?  You get none of the credit for anything good, and all of the blame for anything bad.  Best just to post and enjoy whatever messboard community you're in - and if you're not enjoying it, go somewhere else.  There's only like a million message boards on the interwebs.
