Yukio Futatsugi: These days the kind of games that are selling well are things like Brain Training [Brain Age] and simple games -- not the action titles -- it's a little bit of a pity that those kinds of games are what's selling. I didn't join the game industry to develop those kinds of games. I'm here to make real games

I'd be fucking pissed if I was assigned on a wii project

. For the designers, you gotta come up with some forced concept around controls that will fit with old tech, the tech aspect (levels, coding, etc) guys have to limit themselves in their level designs and so while all their friends are working on cool 360/Ps3 stuff; I guess the only people having fun are the tool guys.

He's just a butthurt nerd who's mad that Nintendo's on top. Maybe if he got one, he would get some chicks.

Lol.

In my game projects class I slagged the Wii game hard. We had to do write ups on why we would and wouldn't want to work on the game and what would make us want to work on the game more. Naturally I put down that I had no desire to work with the Wii remote, and that the gameplay design relied too much on minigames that I had no interest in playing or developing. The other engineer I talked to felt the same way, Wii remote sucks/mini games are lame.

It's cool that he paid his dues at MS for being able to make Phantom Dust... but I'm also glad to hear that he's about ready to get out of there. Make more cool games! :bow
