ok, so my wife is doing vegetation and reptile surveys and won't be back until friday afternoon. Normally, I wouldn't trust forum folk to recommend games that tickle my advanced gaming sensibilities, but in the spirit of comraderie-and to avoid playing company of heroes expansion beta the entire time, I put forth the following choices into the voting channel:
Gothic III-I have a FAQ printed out. I've only played the first two hours and liked it well enough with the community patch. I haven't played an CRPG since NWN2 in January and this might really hit the spot. I can probably finish the game by the weekend.
Civ4: Beyond the Sword - I have two RealmsBeyondCiv games I can jump into (I scored a mean 100k+ score on their last one, report to follow later today once I get the screenshots uploaded). One can never have enough Civ4.
Overlord-Got it cheap, played it for a little bit and liked it. Might be a fun romp for a few days and keep me entertained. I wouldn't mind some lighthearted fare, but it needs to be engaging-I want hours to fly by and not be tempted to fall asleep at 9:30 PM or bake random stuff in the kitchen like I always do when the wife is out of town and I'm bored.
Empires At War-Forces of Corruption-I am thinking about playing through the single-player game as the Empire again. I never tire of stuffy british colonial wannabes with huge death-dealing hardware. Also, RTS is always

++.
I am also open to other suggestions, though if Valve unleashes TF2 as a beta today this thread will not matter. Also, keep in mind that I'm always playing a game of EU3 so don't suggest that! Only rule is, of course, no console gaming allowed.
