What's amazing is the sheer number of absolutely HUGE people there are anymore.  When I was growing up, it was rare to see anyone at 300 lbs or better.  Now, you can't go into a Walmart or Golden Corral without seeing a herd of people that big.

It's really crazy.  I've got a friend who is around 140 lbs and she said she didn't feel big until she left the US and saw how small most people are.  It's an epidemic for sure, I'm not one to blame but the biggest problem is fast food.

That sirloin burger at Jack in the Box is $6, fills even me up, and is advertised on tv at every commercial break.  It's delicious too.  And the burger itself is 1100 calories.  The large meal with fries and a coke checks in at over 2000 total calories.  That is INSANE, and a big problem.  I think the average person knows fast food isn't good for them.  I also think they would be shocked if they found out just how bad it is for them, however.

BMI is a gigantically bullshit number. The bigger you are, theoretically, the bigger your BMI. But the more muscle you have, the bigger your BMI. You can be an absolutely healthy person and have an insane BMI. I bike a lot, I weigh 155 pounds and my BMI is like 24, which is right on the line. I can assure you I'm not overweight.

They aren't forcing anyone to eat their crap lolz

I had a frostee from Wendy's earlier but outside of that I haven't been to a fast food joint in a month. I've been eating oatmeal every morning too, which isn't nearly as hard as I expected it to be. People have to make a conscience decision to eat (and drink) healthy. You only have one body

Agreed, except the Golden Corral part, because I don't know what that is.

My BMI is 18.5. It says I'm healthy. I did round up my height to the next whole number inch, though. If I round down it's 19.1. What a difference an inch makes, seriously. Whatever.

Golden Corral, Ryan's Steakhouse, it's all the same.  It's an all you can eat steak buffet, usually with a salad and dessert bar.  When I was younger and still went to these troughs with my family, we'd be disgusted at the fatties.  They would take big soup bowls instead of the small dessert cups and get a gallon of freaking ice cream, after filling their plates up with fried foods for the third time.  It's really quite a sight.

It's one of the worst places I've ever eaten. I mean how the fuck do you manage to make steak taste like plastic? How is that even fucking possible?

At any rate my BMI is like 30, BUT I've been working out now every day for about a month and eating a lot better, and I've lost around 5 pounds. Thankfully I have a face to die for and I'm not SUPER huge so the chicks still dig me.

5' 7", huh?  :P

BMI is an imperfect measure that is invalid for people who are extremely muscular. However, I can assure you that the vast majority of Americans that have BMI's over 30 look more like Homer Simpson than like one of the gods in Homer's Odyssey.

I did the BMI calculator on that site, and it came out 26.1 for me, which apparently means I'm overweight. :lol

We did a test for body fat percentage here at Mountie School last week.

I'm at 11.3% bodyfat.

Id think this test would have to take into account things that you know, indicate the difference between muscle and fat in your body weight lol

That's probably the biggest complaint about it. There's a list somewhere--I don't know if it's legit, though--of celebrity men who are considered overweight or obese according to their BMI. The point is, none of the men on said list are fat. IIRC, it included like Arnold and George Clooney and Tom Cruise and stuff.

Oh jesus Brandon, you were as fucking bored as me today, considering you never fucking post here.

But yeah, Golden Corral is a fucking shithole of a restaurant. Only the fattest bitches eat there, and the food tastes like shit.
