this way you'll know whether they're worth downloading or not.

I'll start it off with the most recent 360 demo. only do impressions for new demos.

Sega Rally. 690 MB.

There's two tracks, canyon and tropical. lol it's fun switching between them.

Canyon specs: *** difficulty. square=75% star=25% (square is paved/hard road and star is offroad/soft road)

Tropical specs: **** difficulty. square=35% star=65%

Two cars are:

Subaru Impreza WRX STi SpecC Type RA (no specs given for either car)

Mistubishi Lancer Evolution IX FQ340

you can choose manual or automatic of course.

Two tire/suspension types:

OffRoad: More grip and traction on loose surfaces.

Road: Faster acceleration and higher top speed.

Canyon impressions:

I used a subaru with off-road tires. Track is packed dirt and highway. You can feel every tire track you go over in the dirt, it feels AMAZING. It makes you really avoid the ideal racing line when you can. I don't like that you can just bounce off walls and that there's no car damage/wear. racing is still very fun though. I tried as hard as I could but I couldn't out-mojo first place and got second.

Tropical impressions.

Decided to change it up and went for mitsubishi and road tires. immediately saw that was a bad idea and restarted with off-road tires. this is definitely an off-road track. I'm pretty sure the same tire tracks get deeper when cars go over them. the track was really hard, got last and 13 seconds behind first. There's some things like fences that can be destroyed when you hit them but you'll still bounced back by an invisible wall.

it's basically one of those big army games and it takes place in the medieval ages but it actually has a lot of strategy. you're a mercenary, you can command different types of units (horses, archers, swords, spears, etc.) and you attack like the your soldiers do so you pick up a horse or a sword or a bow or whatever. it's actually really fun. I'm on my second day of battle on the english side. kicking some french ass. it's definitely got horrible voice acting and the graphics leave something to be desired but it's still a really good game.

I went away and then came back to finish the demo, it's really addicting. I wouldn't buy it at full price though.

conan and simpsons demos are out.

conan is about 485 MB and simpsons is about 445.

I've heard good things about conan (basically it's a total god of war clone) and simpsons is simpsons.

I just finished the simpsons demo, it sucked balls. I mean, I liked the humor like "He's charging something, it appears to be his lazer" which I think is a mockery of the 4chan meme and the boss seemed interstingly designed. But the camera REALLY sucked. It sucked so bad don't even bother downloading this. also, I think it's impossible to beat the demo with homer (I haven't tried farting in the air while in the ball form though).

conan: the graphics suck and the production values are pretty low but I actually liked it. the gameplay is really good with the whole picking up enemies weapons things (and the size of the weapon actually matter). It was boring at first but I liked it after the first set of enemies.

you can't see shit in the simpsons demo because of the camera and the boss battle is ass-backawards (literally) and it's just not fun. GTA simpsons games were better (even in platforming). the demo sucked, the game might not.

okay, just played it. not a super virtua fighter fan but it seems to be basically the same as the PS3 demo.

there is no online play in the demo. in the options though, you can see that there's an option for ranked matches and player matches.

in the demo, you can play arcade or versus (on one box only).

arcade has 4 players you can choose and you do 3 fights. I played with the 4 players and the demo is definitely set to easy.

that's about it really, it's basically the same thing as the PS3 demo. I can't remember if there was any noticeable difference in graphics between this and the PS3 demo.

yeah, but I wish they at least gave two difficulty options. I basically learned the controls last night (is X a block/counter attack?) and I was able to beat the demo with each character.

Some GAF members claim that there is AA and HDR now.

I don't think there's HDR (for art reasons) but there's definitely more AA according to people who compared both versions.

obviously it's the online play that's most important about this version.
