Can someone help me out with the Halo 3 ending?

The video quality kind of sucks so I can't tell whats going on at some parts.

Here's what I got out of it:

MC and the Arbiter are working together to escape a planet.

I'm assuming thats Earth thats about to get blown up.

The humans and the Elites are at peace with each other. The humans are about to colonize a new planet?

What I can't see is the very end. When they're showing the wall of dead soldiers. What do they zoom in on at around 4:20 in the video? Is that MC?

Is MC dead or alive? Did he make it out of the blast?

I have casual interest in the story. I absolutely loved Halo 1, and it's universe. I read Fall of Reach and First Strike. I thought Halo 2 kind of sucked. I don't have a 360 nor do I have money to buy one. I just want to know how the series is ending.

I didn't watch the you tube video but judging by the spoilers and the comments on youtube I'd say Bungie fucked up and we all guessed the ending. I'm honestly not surprised if this is the case.

i remember when i wanted to read mgs2 spoilers since i wouldn't have a ps2 for another year give or take, and i just said fuck it. i ended up reading the raiden part and then i said to myself ''nooooooooo. must stop'' so i did.

i haven't read the spoilers, though i have seen 5 seconds of that video, but i'm too interested in the story to spoil myself. i'll buy the games whenever i get my 360.

sounds like the ending everyone expects -- but i'm looking forward to years of 'i cried when master chief died' posts. it's kind of funny when people say that shit about aeris, but jrpg types probably cry whenever they hear the theme song from their favorite loli animu. it'll be much funnier from halo's base.
