what should I buy?

I see Playstation 3's going for less than 400 on ebay, maybe I should grab a 60gb?

PS3 worth it yet? My ps2 broke so I need something for my ps2 games at least.

I've been soooo close to buying a PS3 in the last several months. I even went to the register to pay for one the other week but backed out after thinking about it (btw, I'd like to thank whoever that was that called in to Circuit City that day to distract the salesman behind the counter long enough for me to come to my senses). As an owner of a 360, I just don't know what the hell I'd do with one....at least for right now.

Next year.

But you obviously need a PS2 so it has to be one of the old PS3's with the hardware BC.

HOME, rumble, and 399 PS3 delayed. Of course the 399 PS3 isn't important for you.

Thats the same logic that should have applied for Crisis Core (would have moved much more on the DS).

As far as FFVII, the only other system that would be capable of handling the vision they had with the tech demo (visually) would be the 360 and with SE's current 360 support, I don't see that happening honestly.

I agree with etherleds opinion on how SE could possibly be waiting for a larger install base for the PS3 in all 3 regions before they show the game (if it even exists).

But all that aside, my "FFVIIr BELIEVE" campaign is me be facetious. I want it to happen and signs point to it happening at some point...but not anytime soon.

Yeah, next year I will be buying the PS3, probably around the time MGS4 comes out... till then, I have enough to keep me busy on 360. I'd say hold off on a PS3 purchase unless money is REALLY burning a hole in your pocket, and if you don't have a 360 already get one of those.

there are lots of great games coming out in 2008, but for this year there are only r&c or uncharted that could make me want one. i'd just wait till next year--more games + lower price.

If PS2 backward compatibility is deal breaker just buy a used PS3. The systems are almost indestructible unlike the fragile 360s so there is no need to worry about buying used systems.

It's only $200 more.

If you need the money for the games coming out this holiday then keep it but if you have enough money then you should definitely get a PS3.
