Wall Scrolls
« on: September 20, 2007, 12:57:09 PM »
I know someone who is around 23 or 24 and he has his own apartment, a decent job, a girlfriend too, yet he has about 15 wall scrolls.  The scrolls vary from Pokemon to Cowboy Bebop.  Am I the only one who thinks this is weird?  I mean as a high school student maybe.  But wall scrolls, seriously?

eh   most girls that i'm interested tend to think that kind of stuff is cool.  i keep that kind of shit in my room but out of the general living area.  i have posters, figurines and wall scrolls.

Heh, my best friend's married and has a glass case filled with comic book/RE action figures, and a giant (we're talking, 6' tall) cardboard cutout from Matrix Reloaded right in the center of his den. Now I personally don't have any posters or action figures on display aside from a framed Devil Summoner lithograph autographed by Kaneko (and even then, it's tucked away), but as long as you find a girl who's cool with it, I don't think it's that big a deal.

My Gundam models got relegated to a book shelf in our basement. It was my idea, actually. I couldn't imagine having them upstairs ruining the flow of our house.

Wall scrolls are weird, by the way.

I used to have a Faye Valentine wall scroll that my penis made me buy.  I don't have it up anymore.

This is still out in the open, though

Also, "wall scroll" is a hilarious nerd-word for "expensive poster", much in the way OVA means "spent my money twice".

wall scroll is probably the only thing anime-related that those freaks pay for.

If my friend had that I would punch him in the fucking face. What is wrong with this generation?

It almost makes me nostaglic for the generation that sought acceptance through emulating black culture.

I think wall scrolls are really pretty, but I'd rather have wall scrolls of painting replicas or something than of anime characters. Or hell, a horizontal wall scroll with a depiction of an African savannah or something would be awesome.
