Yeah, why have I never seen this?

Fucking great, fucking hilarious, and fucking true sometimes.

Linda Cardellini is fucking hot for the record.

Have you watched the whole thing?  It's great the whole way through.  Honestly, it ended early, but the ending is good enough that I am kind of glad that it didn't go on for seasons and seasons.  There's not a bad episode in that bunch and I watch it multiple times a year.  A real classic.  It ended young, but I really doubt it could have maintaned that level of quality for an extended period.

I'm sure some shitheel will show up to naysay me, but check out Undeclared, too.  By some of the same people, with some of the same cast.  College campus in the late 90s.  Also really good, but more of a comedy.  Still has a lot of heart, but it's not Freaks and Geeks, but that's really an unfair expectation.  It is a great show in its own right, and I *do* wish that one continued because it was rather sitcom-like.

Yes, freaks and geeks is amazing.

All 3 shows that Judd Apatow wrote/directed on were amazing The Ben Stiller Show, Freaks & Geeks, & Undeclared (not counting larry sanders since he really wasn't in charge of it where he was showrunner/exec. producer on these 3). And all 3 of them barely lasted one season lol.

My thoughts exactly.  I was very upset when it was eventually cancelled but looking back on it now I think it was for the best.  I don't want to see those characters grow up, I want to remember them just the way they were.  It was a perfect moment in time that'll remain preserved.

Definitely one of the best shows ever.

However as far as Undeclared is concerned.....meh.  Not a fan at all.

Linda Cardellini  :-*

Great show.  I haven't seen the last season/episodes though, so I was part of the problem.  Too bad NBC couldn't keep this show on any sort of schedule.

I preferred Undeclared myself, but I'm a huge Seth Rogan hack.  Both are awesome shows, and like Whiteman said, probably lucky in hindsight not to go on too long.  It seems like once shows go past 3-4 seasons they become a parody of themselves (see Scrubs.)

I wonder if the way BBC does tv isn't superior (contained story arcs over a certain number of seasons.)

If you guys haven't already done so, you should check out Paul Feig's books.  It's kinda cool to read about the real life events that inspired some of the stories in Freaks & Geeks.  They're both pretty funny though personally  I prefer Adventures in Adolescence over Superstud.

Undeclared was ok but it doesn't touch the asshole of freaks and geeks.

Ah.  I never saw it when it first aired but I've seen it since....mainly because of Bob Odenkirk.

Yeah, I was just thinking you must've been pretty precocious to have seen it when it first aired. :lol

I've never seen it, but I've seen clips of it.  Reminds me of Mr. Show in some ways.

It has its moments but you could tell that they were a little uncertain in what to do with themselves.  Mr. Show is much, much better.

Well david cross (and obviously odenkirk) wrote on the show so it makes sense. But I don't think David Cross did much he was pretty loyally. I think the vast majority was either Apatow or Stiller.

I'm pretty sure everyone wrote for the show.  It seemed very much like a collaboration.

My best friend begged me to watch The Ben Stiller Show during it's original run.  SNL was great during that time though, I didn't dare take his advice, in the days before tivo.

I still have never seen an episode, but I plan to check out the dvd at some point.
