any of you tough guys & gals ever give blood? don't be a pussy! you should.

i found out i have type "A+" blood, which will come in handy when they make a Street Fighter character based on my awesomeness

If anything, it is a time to attack you, because you're low on blood and vunerable to violent vagabonds and escaped convicts. Giving blood is all a ruse to prey on society! Don't listen to them!

I used to give blood regularly till i started getting sick. When i get better i'll think about giving blood again. I have bone marow though that hurt like a mother fucker. But I know it did some good at least.

Plus i believe if i give then someday when i need a new kidney or something i'll get one quicker.

Sait Corny has a point. Giving blood is quick, safe, and it really helps those in need.

It doesn't take all day; if you have freetime on a weekend, head ove to the Red Cross and get pinched; everytime I go a good looking nurse does it

I used to donate my bone marrow for research when I was in my early 20's - $250 a session! It wasn't painful, just a strange feeling when they shove that needle into your backbone (you're anaesthetised though). I would always get a gnarly backache the next day though.

At the time they forced me to hold on to a stuffed bear with my other arm. I'm not sure why.

I've only given blood once, every other time I have tried I either had gotten a tatoo in the past year or had been sick recently and I couldn't do it.

You would probably hate giving blood even more since they use a longer than usual needle and ask you to literally "flex" your forearm and bicep to help with the blood letting into the plasma bags. You do this for about 10 Minutes? I forget how long it takes but it is uncomfortable when done for the first time.

I fuckin' HATE needles (I have rolling veins, where they always move outta the way of the fuckin' needle) but I don't think giving blood is that bad.

They didn't have me flex, either - they just kept a blood pressure cuff pumpin'

The 3 times I've given blood, all they gave me was one of those rollers you roll dough with (a smaller version) that you grip roll up and down to help with the blood flow

. Its one of the more uncomfortable things I've ever felt ;_;. It sounds so archaic now.

I guess I'd have to give it a try... I don't have a phobia of needles or anything, I just find them generally extremely unpleasant. I've gotten better about them over the years.

Last time I went to the doctor I had an iron deficiency... haven't been back to check on that in a while. I doubt I could give blood in that case $:-\$
