Actually, I didn't choose that package for hardcore-ness, I'm not a Halo or FPS fan at all.

I bought it because it was offered at Costco and had the hdmi/second heat sink. I'm paranoid about expensive shit breaking, and you know, X360 :'(

I didn't have a 360 yet, so the package, although slightly overpriced for what I needed, was a good deal.

$40 extra controller
$60 Halo 3

It also came with a charge/play kit which I don't really need (I've been using rechargeables since the gba days), but it's nice to have I suppose in a pinch.

The other x360 bundle in store was the old Premium without hdmi or heat sink, and I'm sure any bundle I ordered off their website would be the same way. The nice thing about buying it at Costco, when it breaks I can return it, get a brand new one and a price difference return.

So, it beat buying a grey one at Best Buy for me. I also got Gears of War and Madden 2008 yesterday, it's gonna be a good weekend

edit: The controller does look tacky as hell, the console and regular controller look nicer in person than I expected. I really bought the machine for Mass Effect, and eventually KOTOR 3. Also, because the next-gen wars are over. Halo 3 is just a bonus for me.

Wow, that looks EXACTLY like the old footage of Caen that I saw over the weekend when watching a Battlefield episode regarding that fight. The allies, right before the last big push, carpet bombed the entire north section of the city TWICE.

The game looks that good, btw. The lighting and weather they put into COH with the expansion (also patched into vanilla COH) is amazing.
