Bought a bb gun and have been sitting around the apartment the last few nights drinking beer and shooting the empty cans that I set up in stacks around the room. There are pellets all over the place though. I'm living the dream.

bb's are metal and are shot by compressed air.  pellets are plastic and you cock each bullet and they're launched by a spring.  bb's are a lot stronger and can probably kill a bunny.  pellets are plenty strong for shooting cans and can make big dents from a long distance.

one tricky thing is how some guns gives the pellet backspin to make the range longer but it makes the pellet curve up.  it's fucking bad-ass.

and don't shoot somebody with that until you've shot yourself with it at point-blank.  even a pellet will draw blood (scarred my arm).

what?  here the only difference is that bb's are balls, while pellets have a aerodynamic shape that allow them to be more accurate and stronger.

over here I went to a Big 5 and I was asking for a bb gun (plastic round balls) and pointed out the pellet gun and he told me those are all called pellet guns.
