I dont really like the robotic voices stuff as much. I dont care too much for stuff like daft punk and the like either.... a few songs in my entire library - maybe? but every song on an album sounding like battlestar galactica gives me a softy.

I find Villalobos' stuff generally sounds really organic, at least when compared to other minimal. I definitely recommend checking out Achso, the first track, Ichso, is especially killer. His new Fabric is the shit too.

I'm currently listening to Joy Division's Closer. I always forget just how amazing it really is.

Polari - totally agree on the "organic" ness of Villalobos. He's definitely got his own distinct flavor of minimal that keeps it more interesting than your standard "faucet dripping for 8 minutes" sound of some of the stereotypical minimal. The guitars and bells in Waiworanao

I find most of my favorite minimal comes from the South Americans rather than the Germans.

If you were a little disappointed in Gnarls Barkley's album, Monster Maker is probably what you were looking for. I've never found C-Rayz that great of an emcee or Sharkey to be that great of a producer, but together they really push each other into making something great.
