I saw the movie (and remember it had a lot of hype at the time) and I saw some neo-religious "Imma devil but I'm not" wankfest and was not impressed. If they kept it more to the comics I would have probably liked it.

I do also remember the story. and the stupid love sub-story. and the emo main character, I remember that.

and now that I check wikipedia, yes there were a lot of religious parts to it. the professor dieing with a rosary in his hand and hellboy saving earth from becoming hell because somebody reminds him he's catholic. I'm sorry, I wouldn't let him fist me.

Dude, that's very, very light symbolism. Religion has nothing to do with the movie. The movie is about cosmic Lovecraftian monsters trying to take over the world. I must have missed that part of the bible, you dolt.

The side story with the ugly broad was pretty annoying in that movie. I did like the fights though. Even the guy that looked like he was from Soul Calibur was fun to watch.
