I just started my game. The visuals are fantastic. I mean in terms of 3D quality its on par with FFIII but there's actual animation. Plus im a nut for Celda. Matoor Link sux. I knew i'd like the stylus controls the minute I noticed you could control run walk speed even with the stylus.

I'm digging Phantom Hourglass, too. I dreaded the thought of stylus only controls, but they work just fine so far.

Hey now, I enjoyed Kirby Canvas and Mario vs Donkey Kong 2 as well. I think if the stylus is done right its not awful to use it.

Admittedly I'm not far and my thoughts might change as I get into more intense battles, but just running around with Link has been a joy.  The way you can vary his speed depending on how far away you lead him was not something I was expecting.  I haven't played any other straight stylus controlled games yet so I wasn't sure really what to expect.
