He's been senile and distinguished mentally-challenged for a while now, due to a previous stroke. She can't go back to the stroke gold mine again.
FBOFW is moving to a new format?
I noticed the strip using ye olde art style, and telling flashbacks, then having some that maybe weren't flashbacks but were in the same style, etc. But I haven't been reading it regularly enough to keep up.
So what's the deal? She was going to freeze the characters in time to avoid killing off the parents/having to come up with subplots for the fourth generation?
Instead of retiring, she has moved to a new flashback-based format. So instead of giving up her slot to a more deserving comic, we can live Foob forever in a shitty clip show format.
She previously said that there would be no more advancement, and everyone would remain as is, but she is in the middle of getting a divorce with her husband, whom was CHEATING on Lynn with one of their Foob employees, so all bets are off now.
Also, there is a much publicized death in Funky Winkerbean this week, so Lynn may have gotten vindictive about her divorce and decided to snipe the Wink's hype.
