Wow, this is really surprising. I was really underwhelmed by the demo. Perhaps I should give it another try.

I want this game kinda badly, but from the demo, I have a feeling that the game will be about 1.5 less points than that. It looks good and plays pretty good, but I probably won't be proclaiming this as an objectively great game.

I liked the demo myself and I will probably pick this up. I didn't think it would get into the 9 territory. It seemed more like a solid 8 to me from the demo. I'll admit that motion-control stuff turns me off, though.

I loved both demos, can't wait to pick this up next week. It's one of the few PS3 titles that uses the Six Axis well, but doesn't overuse it.

The GAF thread for this is hilarious. It seems like all the JGAFFers think IGN is severely overrating the game but all the PS3 fanboys are falling over themselves in excitement.

I'm surprised at how high IGN's score was, I figured this was a 7.5 or an 8 at the most.

i oddly enjoyed the demo and the "puzzle" battles -- it was like a non-sucky lost kingdoms with some beautiful art direction. i can't imagine it being a 9, but i can fathom it being a very worthy 7-7.5.

1.) short games you can play thru and experience many times over and over are brill - See Halo3, God of War, Gears of War, etc....

2.) collect-em ups are brill.

3.) McDragon is very close to McFly

i'm pretty shooter'd out, and i'm a sucker for rpgish adventure games (i was gay for kameo). i'll be getting uncharted as well, but my gaming tastes are more on par with something like folklore.

Since I have around 600 titles between PSOne, PS2, PS3, XBOX, X360 and PSP - Lair accounts for such a small % of my library that it DOES NOT have anything to do with my overall game tastes. naw - I care not what anyone thinks about me considering lair a 7.2 game.

Its not like im saying Lair is a 9.0+ title.

I will also say that any slag who has mentioned it likely has 2% of my overall video gaming experience under their belt and needs to forget about what im playing and focus on beefing up their own gaming expertise resume.

Good Billy - so like me then you likely do not pay for many of the titles in your library

I will say working in the game publishing industry is not the same as 'playing' a lot of fukking games and having alot of experience.

To have alot of experience you gootta play good, average and shitty games....like I say in the Coded Arms contagion thread - unless you have played a bad game, you really cant deem a game as being bad yourself.

R&C sounds pretty good from the people who've played it. I'm not a big R&C fan but I would give it a try because it's very pretty and the gameplay is at least decent.

I dunno the more I play games and the older I get the less I want to discuss them with people, because for me the critical analysis detracts from the very experience I can barely enjoy anymore anyway.

I dont care about framerate if its locked, I dont care about polys pushed or AA or all that if it 'looks good'. Style CAN make up for tech, unless of course youre a tech-hound which is fine, but I think thats almost an entirely different approach to gaming.

As much as ive mocked 'the applejacks defense' in the past I find its easier for me to opt out on gaming discussions and just try to enjoy gaming on a personal level.
