Karen (Rashida Jones) isn't on the show because she's starring in a midseason Fox sitcom, produced by the Farrelly brothers.  It doesn't look good:

I feel completely cheated out of all the Karen/Pam/Jim potential awkwardness that is now just sweet, playful banter.

john krasisnki is in that new george clooney sports-comedy out in December, about soccer. Leatherheads I think it's called.

Anywhoo, yeah, we haven't really been able to see what Krasinski can do outside of the show yet.  I've heard good things about him in the new Clooney movie though.  License to Wed isn't really, you know, indicitive of his talent.
