DILEMMA: I want to play X360 games but I don't want an X360

Xbox 360 :

-is too expensive
-features an archaic controller

But perhaps more importantly, the hardware can breakdown. I don't want that kind of shit. When in GODS NAME will they change the fucking hardware so it will be reliable? It's disgraceful. I fucking hate Microsoft but I want to play games Project Gotham Racing 4 and I want to give BioShock and Halo 3 a go.

1-They already added that 2nd heatsink to improve reliability.

2- 65nm is on the way (probably with the arcade SKU/Forza 2+Mavel Ultimate Alliance elite or premium bundle).

3- if it ever gives you the 3 RROD, you can fix it yourself for less than 10$ (remove the fucking xclamp)

4- you can always wait for a further price drop.

5- 360 controller is great, waggle is not needed bitch.

Bitches, please.

Wii control is everything.

If you had a first person shooter where you could use the Xbox 360 controller and the Wii controller, the players using the Wii controllers would be unstoppable. That's how good it is.

But i am too lazy to point at the screen.

this isn't a dilemma -- it's a matter of semantics. wanting to play xbox 360 games is tantamount to wanting an xbox 360. so buy one. your hysterical overpraise of the wii controller is just a piece of wishful thinking that nobody believes in -- not even you -- and i'll agree to overlook it as soon as you buy a real console

it depends, for a third person game waggle could work better.  KB/M is definitely better for FPS though.  I really don't get what could make somebody say Wii should be there real only next-gen system RIGHT NOW, especially if they admit there's 360 games they want.

Considering how much I'll use it? Yes. And it's not $300. The core pack doesn't come with any saving options, so you're forced to buy a $60 memory card. WTF?

Goddamn, Microsoft is incompetent. All they had to do was decrease the power of the Xbox 360 just by a little bit and it automatically would be cheaper, more reliable and just better overal.
the new core coming out at the end of this month will be 279 with a 256 mb memory card.  no excuse now fuck face.  *muah!*

the only fps that uses the wii remote properly is MP3.  even that requires a lock-on feature to increase accuracy.  yet it still isn't better than the "archaic" dual analog shooter called halo 3.  go figure.  gameplay > control scheme.

I haven't given up on the WII but accuracy is not one of the Wiimote's strengths.  Also, aiming with your arm is much more tiring than aiming with your thumb.

You have no idea what you're talking about. The RE4 port had to be adjusted because the incredible accuracy of the pointer made the game too easy.
Pointer > Dual analog, Pointer gameplay > Dual analog gameplay
Uh, no. I bought a German Wii because they were out of stock in the Netherlands.
It cost me about 280 euros which is well over $300.
so a 360 shouldn't be too much for you.

and RE4 was more accurate cause of the huge cursor on the screen.  in the other version you had a narrow laser sight and had to aim carefully while you could snipe somebody with a TMP from far away when you could barely see their heads in the wii version.  I liked that version more since it WAS too easy but it was not more accurate.

It has nothing to do with the huge cursor. I can aim extremely quickly at different targets. There was this one particular, awesome moment I had when I was shooting down two of those rabid dogs in Salazar's maze at the Castle it was BOOM BOOM and I was completely stunned at how fast I aimed from one dog at the left of the screen to the other dog on the right of the screen. I've played plenty of shooting games with analog sticks and if you think you can do what you can do with the pointer, with analog sticks, you're an idiot.
I agree with the aiming faster thing, that's why I didn't like RE4 on gamecube.  However what I'm saying is that since it turns red and rumbles a little when you make the cursor go over an enemy, you could shoot the people at catapults with a TMP pretty easily.  It basically makes the rifle useless unless you're playing on pro difficulty and need to take out the regenerators.

That's a joke, right?

And besides, you aim with your wrist, not your arm.

It seems I am the only one who really plays the Wii. Or maybe I just have an incredible hand-eye coordination that makes me own with a pointer.

No.  It's easier to make quick movements with the WII-mote but it's not as accurate as an analog stick.  I'm pretty many others have mentioned it before.  I guess it's possible for someone to get more accurate with the Wii-mote but it's not that easy.

Also, I can't seem to just move my wrist when I'm playing a Wii game.  Perhaps, you really know how to play it better.  I enjoyed playing Zelda on my WII but it was definitely more tiring to play than a normal joypad game.   I didn't find the RE4 experience much better with the Wii-mote either although I still liked the game.  While the aiming is more fun, the QTEs were even worse on the WIi.

really?  I liked the QTEs a lot more on Wii.  I usually sit a little to the side so that I can rest my elbow more easily and it makes it easier to flick my wrist.

All the guns have basically unlimited range.  I got the red 9 early in the game so I had no need for a rifle's power.  That was the only real "downgrade" the game got I guess.

I guess I am particularly skilled at using the pointer. It's the reason I love it so much. It just feels good using it. As for the RE4 QTEs, I felt some parts where you had to waggle were a stepdown from pressing a button or whatever, but I never played GC or PS2 RE4 versions. It doesn't seem to register the waggle as fast as it can register button presses, which gave me frustrations in some parts of the game. :-\

But RE4 Wii edition is a crappy port if you ask me. But still awesome.

But you think that it's a software, not hardware problem, right?  Since you think that the Wiimote is better than a joypad.

Resident Evil 4 had the potential to be truly something if Capcom actually cared. But they didn't.

It still got rated as a AAA+ game though.   It also had great sales for a GC rehash.

Ruzbeh, you're fucking high and distinguished mentally-challenged.  As a big fan of Metroid Prime 3, I can easily say that although the Wii pointer is fine, it is limited by speed.  You learn to adjust so it's not an issue, but the Wiimote can not track as fast as your arm can move, whereas this is simply not an issue with an analogue stick.  The Wiimote loses any claimed accuracy improvement (whether there is one or not) due to the major loss of speed.

I think you're referring to turning speed.

No, I am referring to the tracking speed.  In any game, not just MP3, the Wiimote cannot track the Wiimote pointer as fast as your wrist can move.  You quickly learn to adjust, and it works fine once you do, but it is a limitation, and it was why, at first purchase, I was disappointed with the Wii.  Once I got passed that, it was no issue.  It's definitely the one major improvement that Nintendo needs to make to the technology (aside from giving the Wiimote non-distinguished mentally-challenged button placement).

I also find it funny that the Wii gets such high praise when it has as many great games as I do dicks.  Kind of difficult to accept that the controller is the best ever when there are so few worthwhile games available right now.

The potential of making as much money as possible with a prototype, then introducing the real Wii.

AKA a gimped 360 of some sort with Wiimote2.
