I'm curious, did anyone order Radiohead's new album?  The digital download comes up on Oct 10th, and to secure your download ticket, you could state your price, so to speak.  One of my friends paid 7 cents, because "5 cents is too little."  I actually just talked myself into the $80 boxset, with two LPs that I'll likely never have the equipment to play.  The collector in me got the best of me and I also wanted a real copy of the second cd, which may not make its way into stores.

Did you buy the new album?  If so, did you pay anything for it?

i was going to buy the $80 set, but their crappy site wouldn't take my credit card, and then i thought better of it. i'd gladly buy just the cds, but if they don't give me that option, i guess i'll just download it. for free

Just download it for free now, and then get the CD when (if?) it's released early next year.

Yeah they are still looking for a label to market the album in stores.  It's awesome that they will let everyone try (and essentially have) a copy of their album.  I'm curious if the second disc will make it into stores as well.

I'm not a Radiohead fan (OK Computer is good not amazing) but this isn't bad so far. I don't know what the lyrics mean but that's ok. It's 3AM afterall.

The album is not actually that catchy so far... surprise surprise 

No worries mate, my thread was about the album, but more I was interested in discussing the politics behind such a move, and the ramifications.  It will be interesting to see how many discboxes they sell and what their overall take was on their website.
