New 360 bundles
« on: October 08, 2007, 03:23:32 PM »
I know a couple of you are planning to get a 360 in the near future but you might want to wait until these bundles hit the store.  Forza is a AAA racing title but only for sim fans.  MS should have packed in PGR4 or Dirt instead.  Marvel:Ultimate Alliance is good dumb fun though, especially if you're a fan of Marvel comics.

Those might not be the best games to be bundled but it's nice to see that console manufacturers are selling bundles again.  I still remember fondly the bundles from the 16 bit days.  It was cool to get an extra game when you only had just enough money for the system and maybe 1 or 2 games.

It's cool to see them throwing in some games, but I have zero interest in them. Well, at least they're free.

I think many people are like you.  The free games are enough to push in people who were already planning to get 360s anyways but not enough for people who are still indecisive about their next-gen purchase.

Still, you should be able to get decent trade-in value for Forza since it's relatively new.  Also, you might actually like M:UA.  M:UA is kinda like Musou with Marvel characters.  I

A friend got me M:UA for the PS3 as a birthday present. It reminded me of X-men Legends.

My current plan is to work a 360 into the purchase of our new TV in February.  :D

I'm guessing they'll have "Not for Resale" UPCs on them.

That still works?  I have a sealed Motorstorm from the last TRU sale.  I'm stuck with it because some asshole flaked on me.

MS is a pretty lazy company though.  It's possible that they didn't reprint all the covers.  Also, I've seen lots of "not for resale" games on the used racks at EB.

MS Canada has done very, very generous Xbox 1 and Xbox 360 bundles for ages

Where is the new Falcon Core bundle with the 256 MB memory stick and the 5 XBLA games?

No Wal-Marts in Seattle, either. We'd protest and burn the fucker down if they ever tried.

Ironic, the city that forced Starbucks onto every corner refuses to allow Walmarts into the city limits  :lol

you might not like starbucks coffee but they're not comparable to walmart.

anyways, there's a rumor of a $300 premium coming out at the end of october (because of the PS3 price drop).

I still think that PGR4 makes more sense than Forza.  Especially since Xboxes still have a stigma of being boring among certain gamers.

PGR4 would indeed make more sense but remember, they just released the game and they need to sell it at full price for now.

I think they packed in PGR3 after only a few months (after "second" launch) so they might change the bundles again soon.
