Does FF8 get better after the first 2 hours or so? The pace is so slow at the beginning.

Two Worlds isn't actually that terrible on the PC, to be fair. Framerate is like 5 times faster and many of the conventions are more familiar to PC folk than console gamers.

I think Drinky was referring to stuff like Mage Knight Apocalypse or weird RPG hybirds like Etherlords, the early Spellforce games, EVIL ISLANDS, or Heroes of Annihilated Empires.

My favourite rpgs are: FFVII, VIII and IX, Baten Kaitos Origins, Vagrant Story, Skies of Arcadia, Contact, Etrian Odyssey and now Mother 3

I could be a contender for shittiest taste, maybe. Some of those games are generally considered 'shit'

Nah. It's aged pretty well, especially the music. VI is probably one of my favorite games of all time.

God. I think if I get a job I'm going to get back in to gaming. This is fucking EPIC considering the last game I purchased was WoW almost three years ago. Blue Dragon looks fun. Character art is a little fugly though.

my sister enjoyed FF6 the most, and having been born in 1991 she didn't play it until well after it came out and after playing and finishing FF9 and Chrono Trigger.

I liked 4, 5, 6 and Tactics, and would probably have liked 9 if not for the battle load times and excessive redundant event scenes.

I think 8 would be the best one to remake, if they had to do remakes, because it's a lot of neato concepts totally futzed-up in execution. Plus, it's really two games: an outer layer of mainstream sludge with a great hardcore underground classic struggling to get out. A remake could do that inner classic justice, but only if the right person is in charge, and that person is Akitoshi Kawazu.
