meh. Not really excited at worse looking versions of games that didn't even have such great gameplay like DQ or Monster Hunter. Sfags must be shitting in their pants right now though. Looks like it won't be so crazy for FF14 to land on WII after all.

Haha, Monster Hunter 3 for Wii. Probably a PSP port of some sort, too. Not interested to play this now. Something was weird, since the announcement there was no media out for the PS3 game at all, now we know why.

If it would've been on PS3 like before Nintendo's moneyhat it would've definitely sold a lot and convinced a few folks to get the system, but oh well, as of late there've been so many great announcements of PS3 exclusives from third parties (Yakuza 3 anyone?) that it won't really make any difference in the end. Devil May Cry 4 PS3 is one of those titles that will be popular of course.

Capcom has pledged support for PS3 again too, very recently. Slowly but surely they're getting it on.

Seems like Nintendo is desperate to feature a third party game that sells decently in its line-up to get other developers on board with them.

Also, Fire Emblem DS kicks ass, I'm happy of this event.

The Monster Hunter news is annoying because....

1.) I was really looking forward to a next gen monster hunter. So I am dissapointed that Capcom will likely just release a Monster Hunter PS2 expansion pack on Wii.

2.) Like most of Nintendo's first party efforts, this Capcom game is good to me but not worth a Wii. If they were release yet ANOTHER MH game for PS2/PSP I would feel that they were ovrdoing it (see Mega Man games on the NES, or hell just Mega Man games in general) so the third game on the Wii ends the last gen trilogy.

3.) Hopefully they just release a new next gen game of the same type - of a larger scale too - I wanna see a group of 20 hunters taking on an army of giants, etc...

Yeah, it's obviously a cheap cash-in. We could still see a MH4 on PS3 once the userbase is bigger, Capcom will probably want to take it to next-gen eventually. Not to mention that their fanbase owns PlayStation consoles.

The FFCC game is produced/directed by the Front Mission series creator & lead developers. Scenario writer is Motomu Toriyama (FFX & X-2, Revenant Wings).

Yeah the battle screens are horrible. The map sprites aren't horrible though, but the art is still a downgrade. AW2 looks better surprisingly

MH3 being on the Wii has nothing to do with moneyhats: the Wii is the dominant system in Japan. It's not shocking that Capcom would put one of their most popular series on the console with the largest userbase. Face it, the PS3 has floundered in Japan since its release. Why should Capcom spend $20 million developing a snappy game on the next gen equivalent of the Gamecube Nintendo?

I played MUCH Monster Hunter online on PS2 - the game was brill.....the handheld editions suffered completely withut the online.

As far as im concerned N-America got the monster hunter shaft by not getting MH2 for PS2 in North America.

Nope. Press release stating its an exclusive deal and the ps3 version was nixed because of dev costs(which means it would cost a lot to make what would be a bomb). I didn't know the game was so big, but I guess its the biggest PSP title in Japan.

Nintendo made far too big of a deal and event out of this if all they got was a signed deal for just a time exclusive.

well capcom probably pitched this to nintendo so that they have time to work on the other versions. I'm guessing they figured out there was no way a PS3 port could be profitable anytime soon and they can't just tell their fans that they switched to crappy graphics and threw out all the "good" models for financial reasons so they say that they made it an exclusive on the wappanese ipod look-alike with waggle so it looks (at least on the surface) like capcom went for the best choice in terms of creativity.

I highly doubt nintendo would go to capcom, pitch that deal, and then expect them to agree.
