Fantastic game, lived up to all the hype. Ending was terrific.

The credits though-WOW  :o . Best credits since Star Control 2.

Depends on the GameStop.  If it's near a Best Buy or big box location, it likely got a PON (priority overnight) to make sure it was in stock by opening today.  If not, it's when ever UPS hits.  For my current store, that's 11 AM, so it's no big deal for most folks.

I feel like Portal should have been released as its own stand alone game. From what I played, it alone rivals most other gameplay experiences this gen.

Portal with more production and more flesh is worth 60$ alone easially.

I finished it in a little under three hours, but it was perfectly paced all the way through.

If anything, I think there is a very compelling argument to be made from Portal, Episode 2, and TF2 that focused, less grand game designs can be as compelling as well-executed, feature-bloated products, provided that they are packaged and priced in a way that seems fair to consumers.

Sounds like portal is perfect for speed play addicts.

Does it report the total play time upon completion?

Yes yes and yes. Once I finish the Least Portals challenges I'll be all over it.

Does it report the total play time upon completion?
You can play the maps in time trial mode basically.

Portal is amazing.  It really would service well as a spin-off from the Half-Life franchise, and with its continuity and unique atmosphere, it appeases both the hardcore games and casual gamer.  From an outside standpoint, this would also be the perfect IP for Valve to bring to the Wii.

I'm getting the Orange Box for my 360 but if Portal is ever offered by itself I would definitely buy it for the PC down the line when I've upgraded it. Just for the mods!
