Paramount apparently has issued the PR, its the real deal.

And Simon Pegg has worked with JJ Abrams before. He had a decent size role in Mission Impossible III.

This makes no sense. Jimmy Doohan was really fat at the end, and he had a full head of dark hair when he was younger - they shoulda gone with Nick Frost for the role. I'm serious.

This is actually what I was thinking. I think Scotty could be played off as a comical role as well, so it would fit.

Eh, I shouldn't be complaining. Simon Pegg is an awesome cast for one of the most beloved characters in Star Trek.
