Wow, that's pretty tight for the price.  I'm not sure you can actually do much better on that budget.

Well then I'm sold. I'll upgrade the video card in 2008. Since I'm not much of a gamer, the 8600GT will be fine until then.

How much trouble will I have putting the computer together?

XP or Vista?

What tools do I need?

philips head screwdriver, smallish. tube of thermal grease and something to spread it evenly with (place between the proc and the fan). make sure you've grounded yourself before you start. that's it.

building it isn't that hard, installing an OS is harder.

The technician duder told me upgrading to Vista was a waste of time because it had few benefits, and he said it doesn't make gaming better  :-\

16X DVD+/-RW DRIVE,BLK,DIM,M
22IN (22.0 IN) E228WFP Widescreen Digital Flat Panel,DIM,M
250GB SATA II,7200 RPM,DIM,M
256MB NVIDIA 8600GT-DDR3,INS
2GB DDR2 SDRAM,667MHZ- 2X1GB,DIM,M
DELL A525 SPEAKERS, BLACK, DIM
DELL OPTICAL USB MOUSE
DELL USB KYBD,BLK,DIM
