the only thing that I REALLY hate about SPM is how Treehouse gave it yet another internet nerd-aware translation and people praise it as being funny and clever.

portal is clever. SPM is self-indulgent.

I just think SPM is a game with an uneven difficulty curve, less personality than each of its predecessors, and extremely sharp high and low points. It's text heavy, but that doesn't bother me because I expected that going in. The replacement of random battles with..."jump on enemies" seemed kinda dumb. It simplified the RPG elements and the platforming just wasn't there.

Paper mario was really boring.  I wasn't sure whether it was a RPG or Platformer for dummies.  Either way, it seemed to have been made for dummies. 

The puzzles were challenging, but the monsters didn't do too much damage. It wasn't boring at all though. I got up to 4-3 or 4-4 I think and ended up lost in one of the levels.

Pretty quickly.  If it was a third as long as it is, I'd probably think of it fondly.  I bitch about games today being too short, but being too short would have solved the problems of SPM.

according to hyp's kotaku link, in september 360 had the majority of software sales (obviously) with 74% of the sales, wii had 17%, and PS3 had 9%.  Doesn't Wii have like 6X the number of consoles than PS3?

200K means about $10 million and I think the average game last gen would cost $5 million but it's supposed to be 2-3X more expensive this gen I think.
