So what happened in the middle of Heroes season 1?
« on: October 18, 2007, 09:23:32 PM »
i mean, is it just me or does it seem like they didn't know what they wanted to do.

It seems like they knew how to start everyone off and they knew where everyone had to be at the end of the season, but they didn't know how to make it happen mid season.

i mean, there's a lot of back and forth bs and small story arcs that go NOWHERE.  It's just obvious filler.

Am I the only one that sees this?  :(

Really?  I thought 11 or so was when it was at its best.  I am guessing when it returned from midseason break, they knew the show was a hit, so they pumped it up and gave it more resources.

The feeling only lasted for 2-3 episodes, though.

It did pick back up for a few episodes, but then it dropped again.  It really felt like they were just stalling and sputtering towards the end of the season to really kick things off again.

To be honest, I think it started shortly after the Charlie episode.

Then it picked back up with Peter learning how to use his abilities with whats his nuts and then *boom* on the ground again until the last few episodes.

TVC: What do you think of Season 2 so far?  I really feel like downloading them, but reviews have been mixed and I'm just looking for a decent criticism.

I haven't even seen all of season 1, mups.  I quit right after Company Man.

I got the DVD set and I do want to FINISH THE FIGHT, but it's tough motivatin' me.  It's the last quarter and these months are stacked with boner vacademy video releases.

Company Man is pretty much the end of the mid season bounce back.  the next two episodes are awful as fuck.

the episode ruzbeh is referring to is called five years gone and it's bad ass.  the show kicks into high gear after that.

My evaluations...
Episodes 1-10 - AWESOME
Episodes 11-15 - OMFG JUST PUT ME TO SLEEP ALREADY
Episodes 16-17 - Oh nice we're getting back on track
Episodes 18-20 - haha not yet, fuck faces.  go back to sleep
Episodes 21-23 - FUCK ME IN THE GOATASS THIS SHOW HAS POTENTIAL.  MAKE MORE EPISODES LIKE THIS PLZ

Also, storylines that go nowhere for the first half of season 1:

Mohinder's "wah wah my dad died i don't know what to think" story arc.
Niki/Jessica/DL/little black kid's distinguished mentally-challenged ass storyline that moves at a snails pace for fucking 15 episodes

I mean really, you can tell they had NO IDEA what they wanted to do at that point.  Other story lines are moving at 100 mph and these are fucking idling, yet they still put a large portion of the show on them featured with pointless dialogue and events that have no bearing on the story whatsoever.

I probably could have liked the show if not for Niki and her cohorts.  They are as bad as jar jar.

for real real.

It was such a dumb concept.  i stopped paying attention during her on screen time.  it went nowhere and the plot was special education bad.

Also, more signs of bad writing...

memory loss!  omg.  anytime someone loses their memory or it's erased (don't fucking play semantics, fuck faces), it's such a cop out to weasel your way out of a story arc.  i really liked where they were going with mr. bennett being more open with Claire, etc.  but they fucked it up.

i really don't mind the inconsistencies in the story either.  in fact, it's kinda charming and makes me like the show more.

There's an episode where they go five years into the future which is fucking awesome.
Hiro losing that stupid forced accent was indeed awesome.

I streamed it and the source I had, had all of the episodes except for 11, 16 and the season finale! Does anyone know where I can watch that?
