Persona 3 FES NA port confirmed by accident
« on: October 20, 2007, 06:06:33 AM »

Taken from one of the voice actors' personal web page, this information was deleted shortly after GAy exposed it.

I guess that Persona 3 was such a surprise sales success based solely on Internet hype and word of mouth praise that it ended up making sense for Atlus to port it. The supernatural high school environment with pop music was probably very reminiscent of Buffy and assuredly helped the game's US success, too. Didn't it sell like four times the amount of copies that Blue Dragon and Eternal Sonata did?

I hope Atlus plans on refunding all the people who bought the unfinished version.

Yeah, it's still pretty mysterious. Why didn't Atlus release the standalone FES PS2 version from the get-go? When SMT Nocturne was released they chose the latest remixed version with the Labyrinth of Alama and Dante from Devil May Cry.

because they were deep into the localization of P3, it makes sense to release the original first and then the expansion.

and the original is not 'unfinished'. the expansions just adds more meat to the main game and includes an epilogue that is 30 hours long.

I'm glad I bought the original and I'll buy FES if it's gets release here. Atlus :heart

bring SRW OGS while you are at it too.

Does anyone know if FES has new music tracks or if most of them are re-used from the original? I might play the expansion if there's sufficient amounts of new stuff.

Because Persona 3's music was really good, or at least sounding like such lame top 40 teenage music that it ends up being fucking hilarious.

Persona 3 had absolutely terrible music.  I probably would have played it more if it didn't.

I've given up on P3 in October and the only real reason I'd have to restart the game would be the possibility to listen to the music again. Listening to game MP3s without the proper sound effects and fights ruins the whole mood.

the initial songs were kind of lame, but the new songs that play near the end of the game are awesome. iirc they change in january.

For example. This is an example of AWESOME. That boss fight is EPIC because of the fucking music alone. That's the SMT I know mother fuckers.

:shrugs

I think the music fits very well with the setting of the game. having a full traditional orchestrated soundtrack in the game would have been a bit out of place.

Well yeah, but the whole lyrics thing gets annoying after a bit. It's definitely not on par with previous SMT osts.
