It's so easy to confuse Chicken Marsala, which is made with Marsala wine and mushrooms as you said, and Chicken Masala, the westernized Indian classic.

Chicken Marsala is my all time favorite meal.

Believe it or not, Olive Garden is one of the best at making it.

I've never ever eaten at an Olive Garden. Fortunately we've got this local Boston based restaurant that I can go to (Vinny T's). I swear, the portions for the amount your paying is ridiculous. For $12 I got 3 breaded chicken breasts and a plate of potatoes and assorted vegetables.

This place was the same. They put down this large plate with bread that seemed to have roasted onions baked into the exterior. It was accompanied with a bowl that contained Olive Oil and a Bulb of Garlic cut in half, flat side down into the Olive Oil. You dip your bread in there and your in HEAVEN.

I prefer Veal Marsala, but I too was enlightened to this wonderful dish about 5 years ago.  I'm quite sure as a child I would have found Marsala repulsive, but as an adult I adore the wine sauce.  Combined with some mushrooms and good breadsticks and pasta it's devine, chicken or veal.

I prefer the Marsala at Carrabbas, but Olive Garden is good as well.

It's easy to make yourself actually, too.  Just don't go too strong on the wine, it's very potent in taste.

I always ask for extra bread when I'm finished eating, then pack it in a box and leave. that stuff is like dairy cocaine

Olive Garden :yuck

Didn't know people ate there by choice. Carabba's is definitely a step up as far as chain Italian food goes, but the best is a local, hole in the wall restaurant or a nice home-cooked meal.
